MP Rob Flello chose to take time out of his tour of the 2014 CV Show today to visit the Freight Transport Association (FTA) team at their stand.
During his meeting with FTA’s Managing Director of Policy and Communications – James Hookham, Mr Flello who is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Freight, discussed current policies affecting the freight and logistics sector, and in particular referred to the imminent publication of the Groups enquiry into the requirement of professional qualifications in the road freight industry.
Commenting on his meeting with the MP James Hookham said: “FTA has highlighted for a long time the definite need for professional requirements and qualifications in the road freight industry. It was very good news to talk with Rob Flello today and to hear of the imminent publication of the Groups enquiry which appears to recognise the professional requirement, and we welcome the initiative and support of Mr Flello.”
Today was Day 3 at the popular annual Commercial Vehicle Show which is said to be the largest and most comprehensive road freight transport event staged in Britain. The 2014 event has been held at the NEC Birmingham from 29 April – 1 May.
